When Kill Rock Stars asked me to do a song for their holiday album, I instantly thought of John Cameron Mitchell, since we had been talking about doing something together for a while. John is one of those friends that is always turning me on to new music. He suggested this Guster song who were his label mates for the Hedwig film soundtrack. It had these awesome sing-along hooks that made us happy. We aksed Liz Kelly to produce the track, and we did it long distance, covid style, in all of our own home studios!
